Shelley Foley is an Algarve artist who often refers to herself as “A Canadian Living in Paradise”. Since retiring to Portugal in 2017, she has enjoyed painting and sculpting in her studio on the outskirts of the town of Albufeira. She works in acrylics on canvas, alcohol inks, and various other mediums, as well as with found objects such as those used in her palm pod sculptures. She is known for her “Skinny People” works using the elongated, faceless form to express emotions or movement. She has recently begun to offer limited edition prints of her works which can be shipped around the world.
