Nicky Carole is an encaustic artist originally from Devon, England. She is now residing part time in a picturesque village by the River Tamar in Cornwall. During the past five years she lost her heart to the Algarve and is now living there half of the year. Immersed in both Cornwall and the Algarve, she draws inspiration from the flora and fauna that paint her world. Nicky's artistic spirit has been captivated by the enchanting beauty of the Algarve’s sunsets, seas and night skies.

Guided by her mantra, "Life is an ever-changing picture, so look, look again, only then you will see." Nicky uses a vibrant palette of pigmented waxes and forges her medium into visual and tactile expressions of the natural universe. With years of experience as an encaustic artist, she breathes life into the wax, creating abstract and contemporary works of art that reflect her deep connection to nature’s raw power.

Encaustic, a Greek word meaning to burn in, or infuse, is an ancient art form dating back to the Fifth Century B.C. Using this technique, Nicky creates mesmerizing paintings which invite the viewers to engage their senses. With her limitless talent acquired through years of experience, she is unconstrained by templates or borders. Nicky shares the full force of her creative spark, crafting hypnotic images that are vibrant, distinctive, and deeply compelling.

Nicky's artistic journey has been marked by recognition and success. Her works have been showcased in many galleries and solo exhibitions. Also, Nicky’s commissioned works are displayed in private collections internationally. Early in her artistic carer, Nicky made the decision never to sell prints or copies. It is her greatest wish to create affordable original art work. Each of her paintings bears her signature wax seal. A symbol of an artistic moment, to be shared with the world.
