My artistic career starts in the 80s. Since then, I have been through many phases in which I have been experimenting with changes in my style, topics and materials. My curious and non-conformism nature are shown in my work, where a constant changing process is certainly reflected. A process which doesn’t forget all my stages as a painter, because all of them provide my artistic profile with an enormous personal development.
After a long time painting with different styles and topics, my painting has been maturing over time due to a long and deep research. Everything in life requires knowledge and experience, and taking into account the time I have been in the painting world, I may say I have much experience and some knowledge: forty-eight years strolling through the streets of shapes and colors confer experience.
The topics which have attracted me the most have been figures, portraits, the sea and urban themes. Framings which I have painted unquestionably with an expressive and loose touch which approaches the viewer to reality, to the color and the Mediterranean light. Leaving old topics behind, I would like to express myself through new pictorial techniques. People around me know my painting and my procedures have always been curious and variable. The truth is that my painting and I understand one each other quite well, nowadays. I have always found myself inside a figurative trend with realistic topics. Today, my pictorial dialogues are expressed in a more abstract form, obtaining motivation from specific topics as composition referents.
I shall say painting is vision and without vision, composing becomes difficult. My first approach to my painting is natural, so I am able to develop the rest in my study. I apply distinct techniques, my painting acquires form and I feel like we were one. Being able to feel so connected to something is motivating and gratifying. Painting feels good and it feels better when painting reaches those who look.
Looking and watching I see things and I paint them.
