Claire Yvette Lloyd-Bown is a UK born painter. The process and mechanics of painting holds immense significance for her, particularly the art of expressive mark-making intertwined with an unwavering love for vibrant colours.

Her creations are lyrical, colourful and infused with a touch of whimsy, showcasing a hand-drawn painterly quality that draws inspiration from the tapestry of everyday life, personal experiences, dreams, memories, and encounters with both individuals and the natural world.

Following the completion of her Arts degree, she embarked on a fulfilling journey as an Art and Design teacher in various Further Education Colleges across the UK. More recently, her path led her to the prestigious roles of Director of Education at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London and Deputy Director of Newlyn Art Gallery in the UK. Within these positions, she had the privilege of contributing to the public programming aspect of galleries and cultural institutions, focusing on education and curating captivating exhibitions.

Claire is fascinated that individual artworks are akin to hand-writing - unique to that person where each aspect of a painting is a decision.

In some of her pieces, she delves into the depths of the subconscious mind, resulting in raw and dreamlike qualities. She finds great joy in the fascinating process of experimentation, witnessing ideas emerge and unfold driven by spontaneity, emotions and intuition.
