Born in 1940 I grew up in post war Germany, often spending time in the household of
Cesar Klein, German Expressionist painter and stage designer. I believe Expressionist
painters have deeply influenced me from early on.
After studying languages in Hamburg, I started into a very busy life, raising a family, working as teacher, radio journalist and in senior positions fostering international Foreign Trade relations in
Iran, Germany and New Zealand.
I retired and in 2005 had the opportunity to attend art classes sponsored by the Ministry of Heritage and Culture in Abu Dhabi, studying and working with teachers and painters from many countries, e.g. Holland, France, Egypt, Canada Syria, Lebanon, Iran and New Zealand for 3 years.
2015 we moved to the Algarve. Here I am a member of a group of artists working at the Escola des Artes in Lagoa.
